Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir government has appointed Zubair Iqbal as the new Managing Director of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank. He will hold the post for three years.

Zubair Iqbal was appointed as Probationary Officer of the JK Bank in 1989. He served the bank in different capacities and resigned in 2006 to join the HDFC Bank. He rose to the position of the regional head in HDFC Bank and is now the MD of the J&K Bank.

The order also indicates that the government has finally bifurcated the position of the CMD of JK Bank. From now on the incumbent Chairman cum Managing Director, RK Chibber shall be a non-executive director on the Bank’s board for a period of three years. Consequent upon his appointment as non-Executive Director, JK Bank is likely to appoint to him as Chairman of the board.
